Wendell Loran Lewis

Wendell Loran Lewis of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 14 days. He was born on Friday, August 12, 1938 at Shelby, OH, son of the late Cletis & Laura (Lewis) Lewis.

Wendell was united in marriage to Alice Fields Ferguson.  He was a retired Logger and a Minister for many years.   He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Cletis & Laura Lewis, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Sylvan Lewis (Wanda), David Freeman Lewis (Wanda Lee), and Thurman Recil Lewis; one sister, Naomi Kahrl (Louis); and one step-grandson, Little Jamie Ferguson. 

Survivors include his wife, Alice Ferguson Lewis; daughter, Alma Lee Fairchild (Mark); grandson, Cameron Blake Fairchild (Jenna); step-children, James Guar Ferguson II (Lenore), Cora McClurg (Bill), and Phillip Ferguson; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Ferguson, Justin McClurg, Joshua Ferguson,  Trichelle Ferguson, Jacob Ferguson, and Brittany Conley; step-great grandchildren, Leland & Madilynn Howell, Ayden McClurg, Jackson & Creed Ferguson, Joscelyn & Charlie Endicott, Emily, Ethan, Karsyn, Kynlee, Kastyn, & Ellie Prater, Raiden, Nirvana, Lykenia, & Monnie Conley, & Bentley Jacob Ferguson; one sister and one brother, Wilma Phelps (DJ), Donald Lewis (Rebekah) all of Shelby, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Timmy Sargent & Bro. Phillip Ferguson officiating.  Burial to follow in the Fields & Smith Cemetery, Pleasant Run, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 6 p.m., Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers:  Cameron Fairchild, Mark Fairchild, Bill McClurg, Justin McClurg, Phillip Ferguson, James Guar Ferguson, & Jacob Ferguson.
