Virginia Katherine (Longabaugh) Elliott

Virginia Katherine Elliott of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 83 years and 3 days.  She was born Friday, February 26, 1937 at Livingston, KY, daughter of the late Elmer & Lillie “Lil” Roysdon Longabaugh.

Virginia was united in marriage to Denzil Royce Elliott.  This union was blessed with two children, Michael Royce & Susan Layne.  She was a retired former business owner of Merle Norman in West Liberty in the 1980’s and also helped her husband with their former Farm Bureau Insurance office.   She was a Christian and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.      

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Norton & Lillie “Lil” Roysdon Longabaugh.

She is survived by her husband, Denzil Royce Elliott; two children, Michael Royce & Penny Elliott of Grassy Creek, KY and Susan Layne & Robert Yeary of West Liberty, KY; two grandchildren, Ashtyn & Kyle Bidwell of Winchester, KY and Dawson Yeary of West Liberty, KY; one great granddaughter, Brinley Layne Bidwell; and her dear friend, Lena Conley of Grassy Creek, KY.   

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jamie Brunk & Bro. Brandon Stakelbeck officiating.  Burial to follow in the McClain Cemetery, Hwy 172, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

Pallbearers:  Robert Yeary, Dawson Yeary, Kyle Bidwell, Judd McCowan, Marty Orwick, Kerry Elliott, Blake McCowan, and Brandon Stakelbeck.
