Victor Charles Elam

Victor Charles Elam of West Liberty, KY, passed away, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his residence, at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 22 days.  He was born Monday, March 11, 1957, in West Liberty, KY, son of the late Victor George & Venus Barker Elam.

Victor was united in marriage to Debra Gevedon.  This union was blessed with two children, Bobbie Jo and Victor Shawn.    

Victor or better known as “Papaw Chuck” was a concrete finisher.  He was a Christian and a member of the Coffee Creek Church.  He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Debra Lee Elam; his son, Victor Shawn Elam; two sisters, Betty Poe and Marie Peyton; his father-in-law, Bobby Lee Gevedon; two brothers-in-law, James Peyton & David Gevedon.

He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Bobbie Jo Elam Wright (Phillip); three grandchildren, Hunter Wright, Halli James (Ryan), and Desirea Timmons (Dakota); two great grandchildren, Parker Lee James and Dreya Timmons; two sisters, Charlotte Elam Dyer & Sue Elam Kidd (Ralph); mother-in-law, Janice Coleen Gevedon; brother-in-law, Roy Poe; and sister-in-law, Nicole Gevedon. 

Funeral Service 1 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Frisby and Alonzo Keeton officiating.  Burial to follow at the Gevedon Cemetery, Centerville Road, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 6 - 9 p.m., Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers:  Mark Peyton, Ronnie Poe, Mike Patrick, Kenny Bates, Eric Martin, Bobby Wright, Hunter Wright, Nelson Peyton, and Hank Peyton.
