Thomas Jefferson Benton of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 10 days. He was born on Monday, October 29, 1945, at West Liberty, KY, son of the late Henry & Maxine Hackney Benton.
Thomas was united in marriage to Nellie Jo Vest, this union was blessed with four children, Michelle, Wayne, Randall, and Thomas Jr. Thomas was a farmer and truck driver. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Benton; one sister, Almadean Bates; and four brothers, Dewey Benton, Clell Benton, Joe Marshall Benton and Clifton Benton.
He is survived by his four children, Anita Michelle Conyers of Paris, KY, Anthony Wayne Benton, Cincinnati, OH, Randall Dale Benton, Thomas Benton, Jr. both of West Liberty, KY; three grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Benton, Anthony Travis Benton, Brittany Benton; two great grandchildren, Braylon Crew Benton and Branson Sawyer Benton; one sister, Hilda & Russell Hill of North Middletown, KY; and two brothers, James Benton of West Liberty, KY, Charles Benton of North Middletown, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1:00 pm Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Davis & Rev. Raymond VanCleave officiating. Burial to follow in the Walter Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday.
Pallbearers: George Benton, Russ Hill, Josh Benton, Travis Benton, Brent Watson, and Michael Leland.
