Teddy Gunnell

Teddy Gunnell of West Liberty, KY, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at his residence, at the age of 71 years, 6 months, and 19 days. He was born Tuesday, November 7, 1950, in West Liberty, KY, son of the late John Wallace & Edna Belle Smith Gunnell.

He was united in marriage to Rita Mae Cornett on July 18, 1973. He was a retired laborer for Frederick and May Construction Company. He was a loving husband, brother, and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, John Wallace & Edna Belle Gunnell, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Lillie Mae Ross, Letha Roe, Carol Whisman, Judy Fannin, Anita King; and one brother, Delbert Gunnell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rita Mae Cornett Gunnell; two brothers, Bert Gunnell (Faye) of Mount Sterling, KY and Bobby Gunnell of West Liberty, KY; two sisters, Martha Irene Roe of Middletown, OH and Marie Engle (Ray) of West Liberty, KY; his mother-in-law, Wanda Bailey of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Vancleave officiating. Burial to follow in the Engle Cemetery, Yocum Road, West Liberty KY. Visitation 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the funeral home.
