Shirley Mae (Hobson) Blanton Fraley

Shirley Mae Blanton Fraley of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her residence, at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 21 days. She was born Monday, January 4, 1937, at Paintsville, KY, daughter of the late Millard Garland & Mintie Butcher Hobson.

Shirley was united in marriage to Herbert Kenneth Blanton. This union was blessed with three children, Kenneth Michael, Kathy Ann, and James Matthew. After Kenneth’s passing, she later married Arlie R. Fraley. She was a retired receptionist at Dr. George Bellamy’s office for many years. She was a Christian and a member of the West Liberty Christian Church since 1960. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Millard & Mintie Hobson, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Kenneth Blanton; her second husband, Arlie R. Fraley; and one brother and three sisters, Sammy Hobson, Evelyn McKenzie, Irene Kugaczewski, and Deanne Ellis.

She is survived by her three children, Kenneth Michael Blanton & Carol Ann of Frankfort, KY, Kathy Ann Blanton Litteral & David Joe of West Liberty, KY, and James Matthew Blanton of West Liberty, KY; seven grandchildren, Michael Garland Blanton, Benjamin Tyler Blanton, Amanda Hope Litteral Phipps & Cody, Joseph Kenneth Litteral & fiance', Maggie Korfhage, Taylor Abigail Blanton & fiance', Hunter Morris, Chloe Mae Elizabeth Blanton, and Kaden Matthew Blanton; two great grandchildren, Danika Shiloh Phipps and Maddox Cody Phipps; her little dog, Molly; special niece, Linda Stankewicz of West Liberty, KY and nephew, Tom McKenzie & Linda of Centerville, OH.

Funeral service 11 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2021 at the West Liberty Christian Church, with Bro. Hunter Fraley officiating. Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation from 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the West Liberty Christian Church.

Pallbearers: David Joe Litteral, Cody Phipps, Joseph Litteral, Michael Blanton, Ben Blanton, and Hunter Morris.
