Shane Franklin Peyton of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at UK St. Claire, Morehead, KY, at the age of 51 years, 7 months, and 9 days. He was born Friday, June 28, 1974, at Wayne, MI, son of Genoa Kay Smith Stewart & the late Franklin D. Peyton.
Shane was united in marriage to Melissa Ann Walker. He was a retired Ford Factory Worker and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving his country in the 1990’s.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin D. Peyton.
Shane is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Ann Peyton; two sons, Brandon Dakota Lindsey & Grey Michael Lindsey both of Nashville, TN; two step-children, Kaleb Hall of Las Vegas, NV and Lauren McEntee (Ryan) of Colorado Springs, CO; his loving mother, Genoa Stewart (Mike) of Long Creek, SC; one sister, Rhonda Jo Singh (Mike) of Plantation, FL; one brother, Christian Peyton (Michele) of Tampa, FL; one grandson, Dean Walker of Colorado Springs, CO; two step-brothers, Matthew Stewart (Stella) of Michigan and Michael Stewart (Meredith) of Suffolk, VA; five nephews & four nieces; and a host of aunts, uncles, & cousins; and his special friend, Jared Wolford.
Shane will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Lonnie B. Wright officiating. Burial to follow in the Gevedon Cemetery, Gevedon Branch Road, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation from 6 - 8 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2026 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Brandon Lindsey, Grey Lindsey, Jared Wolford, Eskill Cantrell, Shane Cantrell, and Michael Stewart.
