Sara Gullett Obituary

Sara Gullett, 98, of West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on February 24, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and love. She was a devoted woman whose life was centered around her family, her church, and her community.

Sara was a respected businesswoman and co-owner of Gullett Trucking, Inc. alongside her late husband. She also owned and operated a women’s fitness/tan salon, reflecting her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to serving others. She was also a member of the first Sorghum Festival Committee where she spent long hours planning, making trips to buy the pottery jugs, washing them all by hand so they could be filled up with Sorghum, and then selling them at the festival.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Secretary and was active in the WMU (Women’s Missionary Union). Her strong faith was evident in the way she lived her life and cared for others.

Above all, Sara was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who cherished time with her family. She was well known for her warm hospitality and her love of entertaining in her home, where friends and loved ones were always welcomed with kindness and generosity.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Gullett; four granddaughters, Sara “Jenny” Evans (Brian), Carrie Lou Canady (Brent), Allison Paige Gullett (Derrick), Sara Sterling (Drew); six great grandchildren, Dexter Blake Evans (Haley), Jenna Briley Evans, Reese Blair Canady, Austin Sterling, Logan Sterling, Elizabeth Sterling and one great-great grandson, Bentley Dex Evans. Tim Cooper whom she loved as a son and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, DB Gullett; her son, Ron Gullett; her parents; and 8 siblings.

Visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2026 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1PM at Potter Funeral Home.  Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church or Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky. 

Sara will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
