Roy Sterling Elam

Roy Sterling Elam of Kettering, OH, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital, Centerville, OH, at the age of 94 years, 8 months, & 27 days.  He was born Saturday, September 20, 1930, at Matthew, KY, son of William Taylor & Dell Clark Nickell Elam.

Roy was united in marriage to Katheryn Williams.  This union was blessed with four children, Diana, Steve, Tim, Nick, and special niece Audra.  He retired from General Motors, where he worked for over 30 years.  Roy was of the Christian faith and attended the First Baptist Church, Kettering, OH.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.     

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Taylor & Dell Clark Nickell Elam; one sister and five brothers.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Katheryn Williams Elam; four children, Diana Elam of Brownsburg, IN, Steve (Theresa) Elam of West Liberty, KY, Tim (Lee Ann) Elam of Bellbrook, OH, Nick (Christi) Elam of Wilmington, OH, and special niece Audra Williams of Winchester, KY; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Barnett of Lexington, KY.

Roy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral service, 2 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Potter Funeral Home, with Elder Joe Conley officiating.  Burial to follow in the Williams Cemetery, Lacy Creek, KY.  Visitation from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the funeral home.
