Rosetta (Dulin) Gillespie

Rosetta Dulin Gillespie of Georgetown, KY, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at her residence, at the age of 86 years and 1 day.  She was born Wednesday, November 1, 1939, at Sand Lick, KY, daughter of Ervin & Emma Jenkins Dulin.

Rosetta was united in marriage to James Mitchell Gillespie, Sr.  This union was blessed with nine children.  She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family.  She was a born-again Christian and was of the Pentecostal Faith.               

Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin & Emma Dulin; her husband, James Mithcell Gillespie, Sr.; two sons, James Mitchell Gillespie, Jr. & Lonnie Ray Gillespie; and seven siblings, Shirley Adkins, Millard Dulin, Emory Dulin, Edney Jenkins, Geneva Dulin, Rosie Throckmorton, and Mikie Dulin.

She is survived by seven children, Shirley Gillespie Brice (Keith) of Cullman, AL, Rodney Gillespie (Sarah) of Lincoln, AL, Willie Gillespie (Kim) of Johnston, SC, Karen Gillespie Reynolds of Jonesboro, GA, Roger Gillespie of Morehead, KY, Jody Gillespie Perry (Johnny) of Georgetown, KY, and Anthony Gillespie of Louisville, KY; twenty two grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; one sister, Gene Smith of Clay City, KY; and one brother, Lonnie Dulin of West Liberty, KY.

Rosetta will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmie Tharp officiating.  Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 6 – 9 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the funeral home.
