Rodney Keith Cantrell of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, at Cabel Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV, at the age of 64 years, 7 months, and 14 days. He was born Wednesday, October 4, 1961, at Troy, OH, son of Carl & Betty Jean Holbrook Cantrell.
Rodney was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country from 1984-1987. He was an EMS Instructor, a member of the Patriot Guard and American Legion, and loved riding motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Betty Jean Cantrell; and his two sisters, Linda Cantrell & Patty Gibbins.
Rodney is survived by his daughter, Reanna Carty of Salyersville, KY; his nephew, Nathan Cantrell (Megan) of Winchester, KY; two grandchildren, Aubrey Elizabeth Neal and Madeline Kate Potter; one great niece, Emmarie Linn Cantrell; his girlfriend, Dewana Gay of Jackson, KY and her son, Hunter Chase Barrett.
Rodney will be missed by all his family and many friends.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Collins officiating. Burial to follow in the Holbrook Cemetery, Hwy 437, West Liberty, KY, with Morgan County DAV conducting Military Rites. Visitation at 6 - 9 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2026 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Travis Melton, Chris Barker, Jeff Smith, Greg Brooks, Jonathan Drake, and Steve Thompson.
