Reva Daphna (Dunn) Maxey, 85, of Maytown, KY, passed away peacefully February 12, 2022 at Clark Regional Medical Center. She was born Saturday, October 3, 1936, in Kellacy, KY, the youngest child of the late Samuel Ogle Dunn and Goldie Mae (Ross) Dunn.
Daphna was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and avid quilter, and she gave many quilts to family and friends. She also loved to crochet and loved crocheting crosses and giving them away. She was an amazing cook; she always loved making candy for Christmas and gave it to everyone. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She always loved to send cards, whether it was Christmas, Birthdays, anniversaries, or even just “thinking of you.” She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She would have done anything she could for anyone.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Rexel (Rex) Chastain Maxey; her parents, Samuel Ogle Dunn and Goldie Mae (Ross) Dunn; one brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin Ray Dunn (Sylvia); one sister and brother-in-law, Treva Peyton (Delbert); and a niece, Julie Ann Peyton.
She is survived by three children, Rebecca Jane Powers (James) of Williamsburg, KY, Randy Chastain Maxey (Wendy) of Kellacy, KY, and Rachel Ellen (Maxey) James of Mt. Sterling, KY; four grandchildren, Santana Dawn Wilson, Nicholas Tyler James, Dakota Levi Chastain Maxey, and Hannah Willa Jade Maxey; one great-grandson, Kayden Dean Powell; two nieces and two nephews, Benjamin Ray Dunn, Vickie Lane (Peyton) Long, James Samuel Dunn, and Valerie Jane (Dunn) Stacy; as well as many cousins and friends.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Paul Balch and Bro. Paul Keeton officiating. Burial to follow in the Maxey Cemetery, Hwy 437, West Liberty, KY. Visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral home.
