Reeda Darlina (Ferguson) Barker

Reeda Darlina Ferguson Barker of Lexington, KY, formerly of Crockett, KY, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at her residence in Lexington, KY, at the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 5 days.  She was born Friday, April 1, 1932, in Relief, KY, daughter of the late Willie Nathan & Della Keaton Ferguson.

She was united in marriage to George Edward Barker.  This union was blessed with two children, Carolyn & Kelvin.  Reeda was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home.  She was a Christian and a member of the Sulpher Springs Enterprise Baptist Church.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Willie Nathan & Della Ferguson, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Barker; nine brothers & sisters, John Martin Ferguson, Lexie Fraley, Anon Ferguson, Ernest Ferguson, Burl Ferguson, Sally Esta Ferguson, Maxie Ferguson, Zelda Ferguson, and Lowell H. Ferguson.

She is survived by her two children, Carolyn Reeves of Lexington, KY and Kelvin Barker of Falls of Rough, KY; five grandchildren, Adam Frazier, Sarah Frazier, Jenae’ Keown (Brad),  Jamie Franklin (Eric), and Jessica Sparks; nine great grandchildren, Haley, Lorin, Kendra, Kolby, Jacob, Rosalie, Elara, Carter, and Henry; one great-great grandchild, Silas; one sister-in-law, Joyce Ferguson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Joey Ferguson, Bro. Ricky Keaton, Bro. Roger Skaggs, and Bro. James Wallin officiating.  Burial to follow in the Fannin Cemetery, Crockett, KY.  Visitation 6 - 9 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at the funeral home.
