Charles Randolph Frederick of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 1 day. He was born on Sunday, May 25, 1941, son of the late Charles & Rhoda Easterling Frederick.
Randolph was united in marriage to Doris Steele. This union was blessed with three children, Chuck, Chan, & Chris. He was a former Vocational Teacher and was a former owner & operator of Rifle Coal Company. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and woodworker. He was a Christian and a member of the Lacy Creek Church of Christ. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends, and all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Chris Frederick; one granddaughter, Madison Bailee Frederick; three brothers & two sisters-in-law, Grover Frederick (Juanita), Harold Frederick (Juanita), Titus Frederick; an infant sister, Frona Maurice Frederick; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Estill & Hazel Steele; and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Bobby Lee “Buster” Cottle, Harry Steele (Carleen), and Helen Steele Frederick.
Survivors include his loving wife, Doris Steele Frederick; two sons, Chuck Frederick (Teresa) & Chan Frederick all of West Liberty, KY; daughter-in-law, Michelle Frederick of Lexington, KY; granddaughter, Christin Steele Frederick; one sister, Gaye Frederick Cottle of West Liberty, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Elder Tom Steele officiating. Burial to follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery, Lacy Creek, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
