Ora Lee Ison

Ora Lee Ison of Sandy Hook, KY, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024, at Elliott County Nursing & Rehab Center, Sandy Hook, KY, at the age of 89 years, 6 months, & 10 days.  He was born Tuesday, December 18, 1934, son of John Edward & Gretta Doolin Ison.

Ora Lee was united in marriage to Rose Johnson.  He was a retired business owner of a tile company.  He was a United States Veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960.  He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward & Gretta Ison; his wife, Rose Johnson Ison; and one sister, Emma Ison.

He is survived by his daughters, Julie Toavs & Michael of Kelso, WA and Floral Roullett of Hobart, IN; three grandchildren, Sasha Rusher, Christopher Ison-Young, and Nayland Toavs; two great grandchildren, Slade Rusher & Seeley Rusher; and one brother, Denver Ison & Pat of Heber Springs, AR.

Visitation from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home.
