Miriam Mae Zook was born on February 4, 1952 in Portsmouth, Virginia. After a brief illness, she passed to her eternal reward on October 1, 2021, at the age of 69 years, 7 months, and 27 days.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bertha (Tice) Zook; one brother, James; and six sisters, Martha, Mary, Grace, Ruth, Virginia, and Rachel.
She is survived by one brother, Paul Zook and wife Doris, of Chesapeake, Virginia; three sisters, Mildred and Catherine Zook of Crockett, KY, and Margaret Hooks and husband Andrew of Taylorsville, NC; 11 nieces and nephews; and 21 great nieces and nephews.
At the time of her death, Sister Miriam was a faithful member of the Faith Hills Mennonite Church at Crockett, KY. She was also a faithful worker at Rod and Staff Publishers for over 44 years.
Sister Miriam will greatly missed by her family and friends. Her loving and cheerful disposition has been an inspiration to many. Though she is gone, her testimony lives on to those who have been challenged and encouraged by her firm trust in the Lord in all circumstances.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday October, 4, 2021, at Faith Hills Mennonite Church, Crockett, KY, with Bro. William Schueler, Bro. Myron Beachy, Bro. Lamar Steiner, and Bro. Linford Weaver officiating. Burial followed at the Faith Hills Mennonite Church Cemetery. Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
