Mary "Maggie" Magdalene Phipps

Mary "Maggie" Magdalene Phipps of Hazel Green, KY, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 72 years, 2 months, and 2 days. She was born on Saturday, May 19, 1951 at Hazel Green, KY, daughter of the late Dillard Maurice & Mary Ruth Long Phipps.

Maggie was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and home.  She was of the Christian faith and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends, and all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Parks; one granddaughter, Kiera Parks; one brother, Bruce Phipps; and sister-in-law, Linda Sue Hollon Phipps. 

Survivors include three children, Jennifer Parks Arthur (Rodney) of West Liberty, KY, Gregory Parks of Hazel Green, KY, and Shannon Kyle Puckett of Hazel Green, KY; three grandchildren, Samantha Trent, Brandon Thames, and Logan Parks; one great grandchild, Lucas Eldridge; one brother, Yondel Phipps of Hazel Green, KY; one sister, Florine Phipps Vance (Doug) of West Liberty, KY.

Funeral Service, 11 a.m., Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home.  Burial to follow in the Phipps Family Cemetery, Caskey Fork Road, Hazel Green, KY.  Visitation 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home.
