Mary Ferguson Obituary
Mary V. Ferguson of Moon, KY, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home, Flemingsburg, KY, at the age of 88 years, 1 month, and 27 days. She was born Monday, August 31, 1931 at Terry Town, KY, in Lawrence County, daughter of the late Leander & Amanda "Manda" Ferguson Skaggs.
Mary was united in marriage to Lonnie Ison, this union was blessed with three children, Dale, Brenda, and LeeAnn. Mary was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and was a member of the Brunswick Baptist Church in Black Oak, IN and attended the Open Fork United Baptist Church at Moon, KY. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Lonnie Ison, Fred Hamilton, and Anon Ferguson; two children, Dale Ison and LeeAnn Ison Brooks; brothers & sisters, Elsie Fraley, Otis Skaggs, Odra Skaggs, Erma Ferguson, Ova Skaggs, Opha Skaggs, Nellie Fearin, Yvonne Selby, and Francis Skaggs.
She is survived by one daughter & son-in-law, Brenda & Larry Doyle of Fleming County, KY; one granddaughter, Jenilee Brooks of New Carlisle, IN; one sister, Gladys Faye Estep of Fairborn, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 12 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Open Fork United Baptist Church, with Elder Joey Ferguson & Pastor James David Wallin officiating. Burial to follow in the Anthony Ison Cemetery, Moon, KY. Visitation 11 a.m., November 2, 2019 at the Open Fork United Baptist Church.
Pallbearers: Jerry Ferguson, Mike Ferguson, Scotty Ferguson, Ora Lee Rigsby, Chris Ferguson, Steve Fearin, and Donnis Skaggs.
