Mary Graham Burton

Mary Graham Burton of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling, at the age of 85 years, 4 months, and 12 days.  She was born Wednesday, August 14, 1940, at Ironton, OH, daughter of David Graham & Dixie Olive Fannin Burton.

Mary Graham was a graduate of Morgan County High School where she played the trumpet in the band.  She attended Morehead State University for three years and then attended and graduated with a diploma in business at Spencerian College. She was a retired Case Worker in Social Insurance for the KY Department of Social Services after many years of service.  She was a Christian and a member of the West Liberty Christian Church where she was active in Sundy School and the adult Choir.                

She was preceded in death by her parents, Graham & Olive Burton; maternal grandparents, Wallace & Cora Carpenter Fannin; paternal grandparents, Dr. Charles C. & Ora Brugh Burton; aunts & uncles, Mae Craft, Martha Rose, Joe Fannin, Denzil Fannin, Russell Burton, Sam Burton, Jay Burton, & Charles Burton; and cousins, Richard Craft & Scottyee Franklin.

Mary Graham is survived by her first cousins, Charles C. Burton (Judy) of Beavercreek, OH, Charlene N. Lahanas of Kettering, OH, Dr. Jay Mike Burton (Linda) of Mt. Sterling, KY, Margaret A. Craft of Lake City, FL, Jim Fannin (Sue) of Greer, SC, Debra Gevedon of Lexington, KY, and Wallace C. Rose of West Liberty, KY.  She is also survived by Macey Daniel and Cooper Daniel in whose care she assisted.

Mary Graham was a generous, caring and loving person to her family, friends and community and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Hunter Fraley, Matt Daniel, Lee Armstrong, & David Peyton officiating.  Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the funeral home.
