Margie Sue (Salyers) Elam

Margie Sue Salyers Elam of Cannel City, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her residence, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 26 days.  She was born Saturday, January 23, 1943, at Adele, KY, daughter of Kash & Millie Lindon Salyers.

Margie was united in marriage to Vernon Elam.  This union was blessed with four children, Vernon, Jr., Jackie Lynn, Christopher Lee, and Kimberly.  She was a retired Nurse Aide, a Christian and a member of Fritz Church of God.               

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kash & Millie Salyers; her husband, Vernon Elam; one granddaughter, April Rain Elam; eight brothers, and one sister.

Margie is survived by four children, Vernon Elam, Jr. of West Liberty, Jackie Lynn Elam (Sherry), Christopher Lee Elam (Brenda) all of Cannel City, and Kimberly Conley (Charles) of Salyersville; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; and two brothers, Bill Salyers (Lisa) of Lima, OH and Drexel Salyers of Adele.

Margie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Dallas Patrick & Bro. Jimmy Conley officiating.  Burial to follow in the Vernon Elam Cemetery, George Litteral Road, Cannel City, KY.  Visitation 6 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2025 at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers:  Alex Elam, Dakota Elam, Trevor Elam, Kelton King, Austin Bolin, and Joseph Conley.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Vernon Elam, Jr., Jackie Lynn Elam, & Christopher Lee Elam.
