Margaret Fronie Peyton

Margaret “Fronie” Peyton of Cannel City, KY, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 13 days. She was born Wednesday, March 13, 1929 at Sand Lick, KY, daughter of the late Carl & Deckie Wright Cantrell.

Fronie was united in marriage to her first husband, Arnold Haney, this union was blessed with one son, J.C. After the death of her first husband, 16 years later, she married Warren Laure Peyton, and they spent many wonderful years together.

Fronie was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a Christian and member of the Old Paint Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, going to the senior citizen center, and most of all spending time with her family which has always been her pride and joy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great & great-great grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold Haney; her second husband, Warren Larue Peyton; two brothers, Bufford Cantrell and Buel Cantrell; and two sisters, Ethelene Goolsby and Goldie Cantrell.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, J.C. & Thelma Haney of Cannel City, KY; one granddaughter, Amy & Rodney McClendon; four great grandchildren, J.T. Brown, Tessa Brown, Bryanna Brown, & Mystri Brown; three great-great grandchildren, Kenton Adkins, Kenleigh Perkins, and Blake Short; two brothers, Cove Cantrell and Bronis Cantrell both of Piqua, OH; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Holbrook & Rev. Roger Ball officiating. Burial to follow in the Bentley Cemetery, Stacy Fork, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the funeral home.

COVID-19 regulations will be followed.
