Lola M. Smith of West Liberty, Ky passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Morgan County ARH. She was 72 years old. She was happily married to her loving husband James Edward Smith for 35 years. She was the daughter of the late John Red and Annie Cantrell Gambill. She is survived by her children Kenny and Jennifer Keeton of Winchester, Sandra McClure Adams and Chris Adams of West Liberty, and John Matthew “Bear” and Michelle Keeton of West Liberty, and Ashley Carolyn Smith of West Liberty. Her grandchildren are Aaron and Mary Keeton of Winchester, Eugene and Savannah McClure of Morehead, Nathan Keeton and Megan Luetke of Paris Crossing, Indiana, JD and Kiara McClure of Vanceburg, Shelton Keeton and Whitlee Cantrell, Kashton Keeton and Selena Stanfield, Christopher Logan McClure, Maxton Keeton, Darrin and Whitney Adams, Aaron Adams, Brandon Adams, Elisha and Abigail Sloas all of West Liberty. Her great-grandsons are Brayden and Bentley Adams of West Liberty, Ky, Tatum Keeton of Paris Crossing, Indiana and Greyson McClure of Morehead, KY. She is also survived by her brothers James Gambill, Paril and Mary Gambill of Piqua, Ohio, Hearl and Dolly Gambill of Decatur, Indiana, Vonnie and Caroleene Gambill, Ronnie and Donna Gambill of West Liberty, Ky. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Becky, Virgie, and Molly Gambill. She is survived by her sister and brothers-in-law Patty and Steve McClellan, Darlene and Dale Cantrell, William “Toby” and Carolyn Smith, Billy and Kathy Smith, Mattthew and Isis Nickell Smith all of West Liberty, Hobart and Phyllis Keeton of Murphy, North Carolina, Mitchell and Diane Keeton of Salyersville, Ky, Michael Keeton of Morehead, and Patty Jean Cordero of West Liberty. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin George Keeton of West Liberty. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Raymond Gambill, Johnnie Gambill, Chilie Gambill, Elmer Gambill, Delmar Gambill, Mag Owens, and Gladys Keeton. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Our mother was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend. She accepted the Lord as her savior and was baptized many years ago.
Funeral Service 1 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home. Paul Keeton will be speaking words of comfort to the many family members and friends of Lola. Burial to follow in the Clifford Keeton Cemetery, Clifford Keeton Cemetery Road, West Liberty, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the funeral home.
Her grandsons and Travis Cantrell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are her many nephews and family members.
