Linda Kay (Mays) Callahan

Linda Kay Mays Callahan of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at her residence, at the age of 70 years, 8 months, and 4 days.  She was born Friday, June 29, 1951, in West Liberty, KY, daughter of the late John Buford “J.B” Mays, Sr. & Mildred Pearl Ferguson Mays.

Linda was a Director for the Morgan County Senior Citizen’s.  She was a Christian and attended both Broadway First Church of God and Pekin Pentecostal Church.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Callahan; three brothers, James Edward Mays, Joseph Allen Mays, and John B. Mays, Jr.; and one infant sister, Lois Marie Mays.

Linda is survived by three children, Gregory Scott Callahan (KaDe) of Bedford, VA, Stephen Wayne Gabbard of West Liberty, KY, and Jessica Rene’ Gomez of San Antonio, TX;  four grandchildren, Samantha Callahan, Alex Callahan, Brieanna Taylor Gabbard, and Livi Gabbard; two brothers, Jerry Mays (Lois) of West Liberty, KY and Jeffery Mays (Charlene) of Salyersville, KY; four sisters, Marilyn Keeton of West Liberty, KY, Brenda Weddle (Ed) of Georgetown, KY, Mary Coffee, and Karen Roseberry (Bill) all of West Liberty, KY; sister-in-law, Cheryl Mays of LaGrange, KY; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Sandy, Chloe, Garfield, and Cry Baby.

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Vancleave and Rev. Karl Elam officiating.  Burial to follow in the Mays Family Cemetery, Centerville Road, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation 6 - 9 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2022 at the funeral home.
