Larry Lee “Johnny” Havens of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at his residence, at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 21 days. He was born Tuesday, January 25, 1944, at Hazel Green, KY, son of the late Harold & Reva Arnett Havens.
He was united in marriage to Connie Cole on November 26, 1966. This union was blessed with two sons, John Gregory & Jeff. He was a graduate of Ezel High School and a United States Army Veteran serving his country from 1962 – 1965. Johnny was a farmer for 40 years, a logger, worked at ARH for 16 years and retired from EKCC after 16 years as a store operations supervisor, and 14 years at Double J Kwik Stop. He and Connie rode to work together for 30 years. He enjoyed and was an avid fisherman.
Johnny was a member of the Korea Church of God and a 53 year member of the Elkfork Masonic Lodge #755. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Reva Havens and one brother, Gene Havens.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Connie Cole Havens; two sons, John Gregory Havens & Rose and Jeff Havens & Amye all of West Liberty, KY; five grandsons, Dustin Havens & Shanda, Kurt Havens & Lacan, Taylor Havens & Bobbi Jo, Brandon Havens & Dallas, and Sean Stacy & Heather; three granddaughters, Kaylee Maynard, Jenna Maynard, and Jessie Cagle & Jack; eleven great grandchildren, Nick, Hailey, Hannah, Kylia, Roslyn, Brantley, Kinley, Emery, Everlee, Owen, and Eden; and five sisters, Andrea Leach, Ruth Williams & Gary, Susan Wells, Sharon Pelfrey & Mark, and Donna Mathis & Loran.
Funeral Service, 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Dr. Bonnie Preston Harris officiating. Burial to follow in the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, KY, with Morgan County DAV Chapter 132 to conduct military rites. Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday at the Potter Funeral Home.
