Katherine A (Barton) Ward

Katherine A. Ward of Mt. Sterling, KY, formerly of West Liberty, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY, at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 8 days. She was born on Saturday, November 21, 1964 at Seattle, WA, daughter of Brenda Heath Wells and the late David Barton.

Katherine was a machine operator at Nestle Manufacturing in Mount Sterling, KY and attended the Mountain Parkway Church of God.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Barton. 

Survivors include her mother, Brenda Heath Wells of Stanton, KY; three children, Erica Bell (Jonathan Salyers) of Lexington, KY, Brandon Ward (Megan) of Clay City, KY, and Kendra Lee of Stanton, KY; four grandchildren, Alyssa Bell, Kaitlyn Bell, Madelyn Ward, and Maddox Ward; one sister, Rhonda Rice of Mt. Sterling, KY; two brothers, Rodney Barton (Deanna) of Winchester, KY and Bobby Barton (Krista) of Morehead, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Dean Ball officiating.  Visitation from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home.
