Judy Lykins Obituary

Judy Ann Lykins of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 69 years, 7 months, and 5 days. She was born Wednesday, February 13, 1952, at West Liberty, KY, daughter of the late William Gardner “Bill” & Mattie Marie McKenzie Perry.

She was united in marriage to Phillip Nelson Lykins on May 29, 1971. This union was blessed with identical twin daughters, Christy Shayne & Wendy Elayne. Judy worked for Morgan County ARH for several years as a Collections & Revenue Cycle Manager before retiring in 2019. She was also a talented seamstress, quilter, and gardener.

Judy was the epitome of being a Christian, and knew the bible inside and out. She had a strong witness to everyone she met. If you had a prayer request, you knew Judy would be on her knees praying, as she was a true Prayer Warrior. She was a longtime faithful member of the West Liberty First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, a former Youth Group Leader, and VBS Director.

Judy had a fun loving personality and loved to joke around with people whether she knew you or not. She loved her family more than life itself. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be missed by all of her family, church family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” & Mattie McKenzie Perry; two brothers, Larry Scott “Scotty” Perry and Billy Eugene “Pete” Perry; and her father-in-law, Repherd Lykins.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Phillip Nelson Lykins; her twin daughters, Christy Shayne & Dr. Kevin Holbrook and Wendy Elayne & Chase Frederick all of West Liberty, KY; four grandchildren, Samuel Ethan Salyer, Canaan Bently Frederick, Chase Reed Frederick, and Mattie Elizabeth Frederick; one brother, Oliver Curren & Phyllis Perry of West Liberty, KY; her mother-in-law, Zola Lykins of West Liberty, KY; and sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Marcia & Chuck Evans of Madisonville, KY and Janice Perry of Beaver Creek, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
