Joy Sue (Caskey) Hawkins

Joy Sue Caskey Hawkins of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her residence, at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 28 days.  She was born Thursday, July 26, 1945, at Paintsville, KY, daughter of William Prichard & Oshie Wingo Caskey.

Joy Sue was united in marriage to Kenneth Hawkins on November 16, 1984, and they spent several happy years together.  She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family & home and was also a caregiver.  She was a Christian, was a member of the West Liberty Christian Church, and also attended the West Liberty Methodist Church while her health permitted. 

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, William Prichard & Oshie Caskey; her husband, Kenneth Hawkins; brother, Jay Richard Caskey and infant brother, Billy Grover Caskey.

She is survived by a host of cousins and her caregivers, Mindy & Jeff Johnson.

Joy Sue will be missed by all her family and many friends.

Funeral service 12 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jamie Brunk officiating.  Burial to follow in the Fleming County Cemetery, Flemingsburg, KY at 2 p.m.  Visitation from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the funeral home.
