Janis Crouch Williams of White Oak, KY, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Elliott County Nursing & Rehab, Sandy Hook, KY, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 5 days. She was born Wednesday, October 31 1945, at Zag, KY, daughter of Wendell Lee & Beulah Mae Conley Crouch.
Janis was united in marriage to Randall Williams. This union was blessed with one son, Randy. Janis started her career working in the Morgan County Clerk’s office in 1965. Several years later, she ran for Morgan County Clerk in 1973, won the election, and took office in 1974. After 28 years of service as Morgan County Clerk, she retired in December of 2002. Janis loved her job as Morgan County Clerk, so much that after retiring, she continued to work in the office with her son, Randy.
Janis was a devoted Christian and a devoted member of the White Oak Christian Church for over 50 years. She had a great love for her family, friends, church, and her community and always had a smile on her face when you would see her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell Lee & Beulah Mae Crouch; her husband, Randall Williams; two sisters, Phyllis Staton & Helen Robison; and two brothers-in-law, William H. Robison & Edgar Thielen.
Janis is survived by her son, Randy Williams his wife Tash; one granddaughter, Kylee Ferguson; one sister, Fern Crouch Thielen; one brother-in-law, James Morgan Staton; nieces & nephews, Wendy Fritz (Trey), Todd Staton, Brian Robison, and Carolyn Sue Drover; great niece & great nephews, Cannon Fritz, Sawyer Fritz, and Morgan Elizabeth Staton; and her special friends, Sandy Pelfrey & Carol Hoskins.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the White Oak Christian Church, Hwy 460 E., West Liberty, KY, with Bro. Greg Helton officiating. Burial to follow in the Allen Cemetery, White Oak, KY. Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the church. Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
