Janice C. (Lumpkins) Gevedon

Janice C. Lumpkins Gevedon of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at her residence, at the age of 84 years and 6 days. She was born Tuesday, September 19, 1939, daughter of the late Lloyd Estill & Pernie Alma Carroll Lumpkins.

She was united in marriage to Bobby Lee Gevedon.  They were blessed with two children, Debra Lee & Roger David.  She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family & home.  She was a Christian and a member of Index Community Church.  She will be remembered as a loving and devoted grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Gevedon; her two children, Debra Lee Elam & Roger David Gevedon; her son-in-law, Victor Charles Elam; two grandchildren, David Zachary Gevedon & Victor Shawn Elam; two sisters, Erma Dean Lumpkins & Alieen Lumpkins Clevenger; and seven brothers, Fredie Lumpkins, Kenneth Lumpkins, Roger Lee Lumpkins, Harold Lloyd Lumpkins, Billy Jack Lumpkins, Chester Nevon Lumpkins, and Leon Keith Lumpkins. 

She is survived by two grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Elam Wright (Phillip McCoy Wright) of West Liberty, KY & Ethan Gevedon (Carollynn Judge) of Michigan; three great grandchildren, Halli Wright, Desirae Crowder Timmons (Dakota Timmons), & Hunter Wright (Kaylee Ross); two great-great grandchildren, Parker Lee James & Dreya Timmons; one brother, Raymond Gordon Lumpkins of West Liberty, KY; her daughter-in-law, Nikki Shearer of Piqua, OH; and one sister-in-law, Lois Lumpkins of West Liberty, KY.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Frisby & Sidney Gevedon officiating.  Burial to follow in the Gevedon Cemetery, Centerville Road, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation 6 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Scott Clevenger, Steve McClure, Ethan Gevedon, Hunter Wright, Dakota Timmons, and Michael Lumpkins.
