Jane Duncan Murray

Jane Duncan Murray of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 70 years, 1 month, & 6 days.  She was born Sunday, August 22, 1954 at Lexington, KY, daughter of Dr. H.B. Murray & Florence Brooks Murray.

Jane was a retired Registered Nurse, working for Morgan County ARH for several years.  She was very talented at quilting and sewing.  During the pandemic, she was known for making several facial masks for the community.  She was a Christian and a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, where after the tornado, she served on the committee to rebuild the church.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. H.B. & Florence Murray and an infant son, Brian Dwayne Nickell.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Nickell Ferguson (Chris) of West Liberty; one grandson, Charles Murray “C.M.” Ferguson; one sister, Judy Elam (Howard) of West Liberty; and two nephews, H.B. Elam & James Elam.

Funeral service, 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church, with Bro. Jamie Brunk officiating.  Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the West Liberty United Methodist Church.  Potter Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
