James “Jim” Ray Montgomery of Franklin, OH, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at his residence, at the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 22 days. He was born Monday, September 30, 1946 at Pomeroyton, KY, son of the late Charles Montgomery & Maxine Halsey Crase.
Jim was united in marriage to Diana Peyton. This union was blessed with two children, Beverly & Brent. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and by trade he was retired from electrical and maintenance work at Aeronca. He was a Christian and a member of the Crosspoint Church of Christ in Middletown, OH. He was also a member of the Ohio Valley Cruiser Car Club. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenny Montgomery; and one sister, Dana Brewer.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Peyton Montgomery; one daughter, Beverly Haynes & Scott of Dayton, OH; one son, Brent Montgomery & Steph of Ligonier, IN; and two sisters, Gail Stamper of KY and Vicki Uriostegui of GA.
Due to the COVID-19 requirements set forth by Governor Andy Beshear, a private graveside service for the immediate family, will be held Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Peyton Cemetery, West Liberty, KY, with Bro. Bill Birchfield officiating.
