James Denzil “Jack” Elam of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his residence at the age of 73 years and 4 months. He was born Saturday, August 28, 1948, at West Liberty, KY, son of the late Denzil Lee & Esther Mae Gilliam Elam.
He was united in marriage to Miriam Sowards Williams. He was a retired transportation worker; he was a Christian, and was baptized at Grace Baptist Church, Malone, KY. He loved his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother & sister-in-law, Ed & Hannah Elam; one brother-in-law, Earl D. Bach; and one niece, Robin Elam.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Williams Elam; one daughter, Beth Elam Boursaw (Eric) of Harrodsburg, KY; two step sons, Michael Williams (Dawn) of Lexington Park, MD and Shawn Williams of Elizabethtown, KY; six grandchildren, John Boursaw, Tara Dawn Barrett, Nicholas Winn Williams, Marie Anna Williams, Madison Marie Williams, and Adyson Nicole Williams; one sister, Dorothy Bach of Beavercreek, OH; one brother, Kiser Elam (Opal) of Ashland, KY; nieces and nephews, Kerry Bach (Deb), Jana Bach, Jimmy Elam (Kim), and Carol Eades (David); special great nephew, Max Elam; and several other great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the spring of 2022.
