James Arthur Ross, Jr. of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Isonville, KY, at the age of 92 years, 4 months, & 5 days. He was born Friday, March 18, 1932 at Grassy Creek, KY, son of James Arthur & Gilla Cundiff Ross.
He was united in marriage to Vivian Vanhoose. He was a retired road construction worker, was a Christian and member of Broadway First Church of God. He served his country in the US Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Arthur, Sr. & Gilla Ross; his loving wife, Vivian Ross; and siblings, Roger, Alma, Georgia, Carolyn, and Ruth.
He is survived by four sons & one daughter, Gregory Preece (Kimberly), Anthony Preece (Missie), Jamie Preece (Tina), James Woodrow Ross, and Nyla Ross; six grandchildren, Trista, Tessa, Jacob, Lynzee, Jayde, & Joe; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn “Maggie” Rosscheck.
Funeral service 11 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY, with Rev. Karl Elam & Rev. Ronnie Gibson officiating. Burial to follow in the Greer - Cundiff Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY, with Morgan County DAV to conduct military rites. Visitation 6 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Gary Havens, Joe Hunt, Kevin Vance, Jacob Preece, David Litteral, and Austin Hunt.
