James L. Jones

James L. Jones of North Middletown, KY, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at his residence, at the age of 78 years, 7 months, & 7 days.  He was born Saturday, December 8, 1945 in Sharpsburg, KY, son of Harold & Lucy Guy Jones.

James was united in marriage to Deborah Taulbee.  This union was blessed with three children, Johnnie Wayne, Jennifer Ann, & James Lewis.  He was a retired Textile Factory Supervisor & Farmer.  He was a Christian and member of the Little Rock Christian Church in Little Rock, KY.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Lucy Jones; two sisters, Stella & Geneva; and four brothers, Billy, Bobby, Charles, and Jay.

James is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Taulbee Jones; three children, Johnnie Wayne Jones (Gail) of North Middletown, KY, Jennifer Ann Ramey (Anthony) of Paris, KY, and James Lewis Jones, Jr. (Stacy) of Sharpsburg, KY; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary & Alberta; and two brothers, Virgil & Rex.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Rex Graham officiating.  Burial to follow in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers:  Anthony Ramey, Roger Centers, Stephen Centers, Richard Centers, Adam Downing, Jim Dunn, Dillon Catron, and Stephen Eads.
