James Michael Hutchinson

James Michael Hutchinson of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 9 days. He was born on Monday, November 7, 1955 at Paintsville, KY, son of the late James & Opal Ison Hutchinson.

He was united in marriage to Emma Gwendolyn McKenzie.  He was a retired Engineer for the Highway Department and was a Christian and attended the Old Paint Church.  He was a loving husband, step father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step daughter, Shanda Cantrell. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Emma Gwendolyn McKenzie Hutchinson; special grandson, Jeffrey Shawn Cantrell; four step children, Jerry Daniel of South Carolina, Dana O’Neal (Johnny) of Elkfork, KY, Scott Daniel of Paintsville, KY, and Jeffrey Cantrell (Natasha) of West Liberty, KY; several grandchildren & great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Collins officiating.  Burial to follow in the J.W. Cantrell Cemetery, Upper Sand Lick, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers:  Jeffrey Cantrell, Jr., Jeffrey Cantrell, Sr., Johnny O’Neal, Josh O’Neal, Joe Day, Rodney Adams, and Sam Howard.
