Irene Callahan of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 65 years, 9 months, and 2 days. She was born Saturday, February 20, 1954 at West Liberty, KY, daughter of the late Hays Lewis, Jr. & Stella Marie Blevins Lewis.
Irene was united in marriage to William Larry Callahan. This union was blessed with two children, William Keith & Daphne Michele. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She loved her flowers and was an avid flower gardener. She also loved her family and was a devoted wife of 49 years and was a loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Frank & Ola Blevins; and two brothers, Randall Lewis & Vondall Dean Lewis.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, William Larry Callahan; one son & daughter-in-law, William Keith Callahan & Lois of West Liberty, KY; one daughter & son-in-law, Daphne Michele Lint & Chuck of O’Fallon, MO; four grandchildren, Ryan Keith Callahan & Jennifer of Georgetown, KY, Danielle Lint, Christopher Lint, & Caden Lint all of O’Fallon, MO; one step grandchild, Amelia Buckner of Georgetown, KY; two brothers & two sisters, Ronnie Lewis & Rosemary, Delyn Lewis & Geraldine, Donna Sargent & Joe, and Diana Manning & Mason all of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Jonathan Sargent officiating. Burial to follow in the Callahan Lewis Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Jason Lewis, Ryan Callahan, Christopher Lint, Caden Lint, Dwayne Lewis, Robert Lewis, Scottie Sargent, and Jamie Lewis.
