Ima Jean McClurg of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 72 years and 4 months. She was born Tuesday, July 13, 1948 at West Liberty, KY, daughter the late Arvil & Ruthie Fairchild Law.
Ima was a devoted Christian and member of the Blaze Community Church, with a loving Pastor, Bro. Vernon Lewis. She was a friend to everyone and loved everyone. She loved having company, cooking, making crafts, crocheting and sewing. It can’t be put into words the love she had for her family and friends and how much she was loved by all of them. She will be missed so much by everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Law Eldridge.
Ima Jean is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Larson McClurg; two children, Karen & Jeff Benton of West Liberty, KY and Danny & Jessica McClurg of Maryville, OH; four grandchildren, Dakota & Emilie Benton, Luke & Ashley McClurg, Madelyn McClurg, and Lacey Benton; one great grandchild, Bentley McClurg; two sisters, Phyllis & Ishmael Sexton and Louise & Ronald Sexton all of West Liberty, KY; three brothers, Ralph & Janie Law of West Liberty, KY, Mervin & Roberta Law of OH, and Raymond & Tena Law of FL; a special nephew, Gerald & Becky Sexton & their daughter, Emily Sexton; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jonathan Sargent officiating. Burial to follow in the McClurg Cemetery, McClurg Road, West Liberty, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home.
