Ilene (Coffee) Hopkins

Ilene Coffee Hopkins of Anniston, AL, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at her residence in Anniston, AL, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 16 days.  She was born Saturday, June 7 1941, at Rockhouse, KY, daughter of Buford & Clova Mae Penix Coffee.

Ilene was deeply rooted in her Christian Faith.  She was very devoted to both her family and her Faith; she loved to share her gift of song to spread the gospel of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford & Clova Mae Penix Coffee; her husband, Ed Baker; one daughter, Barbara Bolin; one granddaughter, Samantha Sexton; one great grandson, Austin Lewis; one sister, Arnetta Rattenbury; and brother-in-law, Ed Rattenbury.

Ilene is survived by five children, Robert Hopkins & Rita, of Weaver, AL, Tina Hopkins of Winchester, KY, Mark Hopkins & Angela of Grayson, KY, Nancy Caskey & Joe of Morehead, KY, and Peggy Hopkins Peyton & Jamie of Myrtle Beach, SC; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Harlen Coffee & Brenda of Elizabethtown, KY and Paul Coffee of South Lebanon, OH; three sisters, Georgia Lindon & Ralph of Morehead, KY, Wilma Coffee Perry, & Sheila Coffee Stacy & Jay all of West Liberty, KY; her dear friend, Avanell Goodpaster of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Simplicity was a way of life for Ilene, faith, love, and family.  Love that will be felt and passed down through decades and generations to come.  She would want us all to spread the love and faith for everyone to see and hear.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev.. Jimmie Tharp officiating.  Burial to follow in West Liberty Memorial Gardens, Davis Lane, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 at the funeral home.
