Homer “Sonny” Burrows Rose of West Liberty, KY, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the West Liberty Nursing & Rehab Center, at the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 29 days. He was born Wednesday, November 13, 1929 at Farmers, KY, son of the late Homer S. “Pete” & Abbie C. “Peggy” Burrows Rose.
Sonny was united in marriage to Martha Fannin. This union was blessed with two children, Debra & Wallace Clay. Sonny was a US Army Veteran, serving his country from 1947 - 1948, and was a retired salesman for LaRoche Industries, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. He was a loving father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Fannin Rose and two brothers, Harold S. Rose & Robert L. Rose.
Sonny is survived by his two children, Debra Rose Gevedon of Lexington, KY, and Wallace Clay Rose of West Liberty, KY; two grandchildren, Robert Clay Gevedon and Abbie Rose Gevedon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Hunter Fraley officiating. Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY, with Morgan County DAV to conduct Military Rites. Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: David Schildmeyer, Fred Rose, Steve Rose, Clay Gevedon, John Gajardo, Steve Ratliff, Perry Allen, Jeff Bailey, and Wallace Rose.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY or West Liberty Christian Church.
