Herbert Wages of Manchester, OH, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville, KY, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 9 days. He was born Saturday, December 5, 1925 at Johnson Fork, KY, in Magoffin County, son of the late William Harrison Wages & Mariah Burton Wages.
Herbert was united in marriage to Lavola Ruble. This union was blessed with four sons, William, Roby, James, and Marvin. He was a retired Ream Press Operator at a paper mill. He served his country in the US Navy and was a World War II veteran. He was a Christian and a member of the Samaria Primitive Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lavola Ruble Wages; four sons, William Wages of Texas, Roby Wages of Missouri, James & Tina Wages of Manchester, OH, and Marvin & Bobbi Wages of Virginia; a special son, William Davis of Cincinnati, OH; sixteen grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Lena Perry of Covington, KY, Evalee Stacy of West Liberty, KY, and Ann Burton of Greenville, OH; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 requirements set forth by Governor Andy Beshear, a private graveside service for the immediate family, will be held Friday, April 17, 2020 at the Burton Cemetery, Cutuno, KY, with Elder Doyle Keeton officiating.
