Henrietta (Lewis) May

Henrietta Lewis May of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Edgewood Estates, Frenchburg, KY, at the age of 90 years & 27 days.  She was born Tuesday, October 2, 1934 at Elkfork, KY, daughter of Virgil & Elizabeth Gilliam Lewis.

Henrietta was united in marriage to Ova May.  This union was blessed with two daughters, Vera “Vicki” & Jacqueline, and one son, Keith.  She was a retired Sales Clerk working at different retail stores.  She was a Christian and member of the West Liberty Christian Church.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil & Elizabeth Lewis; her husband, Ova May; her son, Keith May; and three sisters, Mae Hammonds, Loretta May, and Leona Osborne.

She is survived by two daughters, Vera “Vicki” Eagle (Jerry) of West Liberty and Jacqueline Heaton (Leon) of Frenchburg; eight grandchildren, Zachary May, Blair Rucker (Lyle), Haley Ross (Jeremy), Lacy Burghardt (Jake), Leslie Cecil (Austin), Disa Brandenburg (Tim), Aubrey Alonzo (Matt), and Alexandria Heaton; seven great grandchildren, Makenzie Bristol, Riley, Ryan, Easton, Corbin, and Ezra; and a host of nieces & nephews.

Funeral service, 1 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024 at the West Liberty Christan Church, with Bro. Hunter Fraley & Bro. Kent Nickell officiating.  Burial to follow at McClain Cemetery, Hwy 172, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024, at the West Liberty Christian Church.  Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers:  Leon Heaton, Jerry Eagle, Jeremy Ross, Austin Cecil, Jake Burghardt, Zach May, Matt Alonzo, & Frank Osborne.
