Gregory Kinner Obituary

Gregory Neil Kinner, age 60, died Monday, March 2, 2020, at his home in West Liberty, Ky., following a 15-month battle with cancer. Born Feb. 1, 1960, at Florress, Ky., he was the son of Earl W. and the late Linda Sue Haney Kinner of West Liberty.

He was co-owner and general manager of the Courier Publishing Co. in West Liberty where he began work after graduating from Morgan County High School, starting as a sports reporter, photographer, and printer, eventually moving to printing plant foreman, circulation manager, and business manager. He was a Christian and was a member of the Lacy Creek Church of Christ and Highland Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Adkins Kinner, and his grandparents, Stanley and Nannie Kate Easterling Haney of Florress, Ky., and Earl W. and Delia Webb Kinner of West Liberty; an aunt, Bonnie Center of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and three uncles, Jerry Haney of Lacy Creek Road, West Liberty, and Herbert Haney and Henry Clay Haney of Florress.

He is survived by his father, Earl W. Kinner, Jr., of West Liberty; two sons, Channing and Leah Kinner of West Liberty, and Austin and Tori Kinner of Morehead, Ky., and two grandchildren, Bennett Kinner of West Liberty and Jason Kinner of Morehead. Other survivors are two aunts, Mrs. Sharon Haney of Lacy Creek Road, West Liberty and Mrs. Clara Ladd of Lakewood, Washington, and special friends, his brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Nalma Howell, and brother-in -law, Rick Adkins, all of West Liberty, and a close-knit family of loving cousins, nephews and nieces, and other family members, and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 6, at 10:00 a.m at Potter Funeral Home in West Liberty with Rev. Jimmy Adkins and Rev. Jamie Brunk officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, from at 6:00 p.m. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home by Highland Lodge 311, F.&A.M. Burial will be beside his beloved wife in the Adkins Cemetery, Redwine Road, West Liberty.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Howell, Brandon Howell, Jackie Howell, Ricky Adkins, Timmy Adkins, Wayne Hutchinson, Albert Clay Center, and Zach Haney.
