Glois (Elam) Carpenter Williams of Louisville, KY, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at Wesley Manor Retirement Community, Louisville, KY, at the age of 93 years, 3 months, and 16 days. She was born Sunday, December 9, 1928, in Morehead, KY, daughter of the late Russell & Elizabeth Fannin Elam.
Glois was united in marriage to her first husband, Dennie Oliver “Bobey” Carpenter. This union was blessed with two daughters, Donna & Rhonda. After Bobey’s passing, she later married her second husband, Wendell Williams. She was a retired LPN, formerly working for Dr. Morris Peyton, Dr. Alex Spencer, Dr. George Bellamy, and ARH Home Health. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Russell & Elizabeth Elam, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennie Oliver “Bobey” Carpenter; her second husband, Wendell Williams; one brother, Melvin Elam; and one sister, Mary Ruth Montgomery.
Glois is survived by two daughters, Donna Melhorn of Louisville, KY and Rhonda Rupe of West Liberty, KY; three grandchildren, Brooke Salmon (Josh), Brittney Melhorn (Daniel), and Greg Rupe (Connie); eight great grandchildren, Tatum Melhorn, Kylie Flathers, Tanner Salmon, Taylor Salmon, Bella Salmon, Sophie Salmon, Austin Rupe, and Colten Rupe; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Hunter Fraley officiating. Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation from 12 - 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the funeral home.
