Glenn Dale Salyer of Loveland, OH, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Loveland Health Care Center, Loveland, OH, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 20 days. He was born Thursday, March 28, 1935, at White Oak, KY, son of the late Arna Mort & Lola Greene Williams Salyer.
Glenn was united in marriage to Hallie Mae Carpenter. This union was blessed with four children, Glenda, Constance, Barbara, and Lola Jane. He was a retired laborer at a paper mill factory, where he also served as the union president. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country from 1957 – 1959. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arna Mort & Lola Salyer; four sisters, Marilyn Oney, Joyce Oney, Irene Oney, and Deloris Holtquist; three brothers, Woodrow Salyer, Waldo Salyer, and Curt Salyer; and one son-in-law, Dave Fields.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Hallie Mae Salyer; four children, Glenda Fields of Bethel, OH, Constance Helton (Harrison) of Salyersville, KY, Barbara Bryant (Rick) of Bethel, OH, and Lola Jane Salyer of Loveland, OH; seven grandchildren, Leah Fields, Krista Fields (Chris Phillips), Jeffrey Helton (Debra), Alison Bord, Joshua Dale Salyer, and Kyle Lay; three great grandchildren, Trevor Dallman and Tate Lay; one sister, Billie Boone of Louisville, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeffrey Helton & Bro. Neil Carty officiating. Burial to follow in the Reed Cemetery, White Oak, KY. Visitation 6 - 9 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the funeral home.
