Glenn William Adkins of Sandy Hook, KY, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at his residence, at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 8 days. He was born Wednesday, October 15, 1944, at Canton, OH, son of William Ransom & Ruby Belle Stevens Adkins.
Glenn was united in marriage to Betty Ruth Eldridge. This union was blessed with three children, Melissa, Amanda, and Jennifer Lynn. Glenn was a retired heavy equipment operator for the KY State Highway Department and was also a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ransom & Ruby Belle Adkins; his wife, Betty Ruth Adkins; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Adkins; and one sister & one brother, Molly Harding and Dale Adkins.
Glenn is survived by two daughters, Melissa McGuire and Amanda & Sean Williams all of Sandy Hook, KY; a special person in his life who was more than just a son-in-law and more like a son he never had, Sean Williams, whom he called "Seanie Boy"; two granddaughters, Gracie Cox & Chloe Rose; one brother & one sister, Sammy Adkins (Donna Jarvis) & Marcella Wilder all of Sandy Hook, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Glenn will be missed by all his family and many friends.
Funeral service 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Garry Ferguson officiating. Burial to follow in the Adkins Cemetery, Neal Howards Creek, KY 702, Sandy Hook, KY. Visitation from 1 - 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Cameran Wells, Scott Cox, Johnny Bowman, Kevin Wright, Cameron Wilder, Gracie Cox, & Chloe Rose.
Honorary Pallbearers: Sammy Adkins & Sean Williams.
