Gerry Nel (Whitt) Allen

Gerry Nel Allen of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, after an illness, at the age of 81 years & 23 days.  She was born Monday, October 11, 1943 in Sandy Hook, KY, daughter of Jerome & Nancy Alice Whitt.

She was a member of the Hope Enterprise Baptist Church of Sandy Hook, KY.  She was united in marriage to Ronnie David Allen on January 23, 1964.  She retired from Pathways Incorporated after 25 years of service.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome & Nancy Alice Whitt; her husband, Ronnie David Allen; her son, David Curtis Allen; and sister, Betty Arlene Eldridge.

Surviving is her daughter, Kimberly Renee Ison (Jimmy) of West Liberty, KY; four grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Ison (Sherry) of Carlinville, IL, Nathaniel Grant Ison (Donna), Davana Renee Hollon (Brandon) & Dakota David Allen all of Morehead, KY; four great grandchildren, Sophia Renee Ison, Andrew David Ison, Maggie Mae Hollon, & Baylee Sue Hollon; two brothers, William Harold Whitt (Ina) of Florence, KY & Larry Dale Whitt (Barb) of Sandy Hook, KY; a special nephew, Michael Ray Eldridge of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Funeral service, 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Dean Ball officiating.  Burial to follow in West Liberty Memorial Gardens.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers:  Harold Whitt, Junior Whitt, Larry Whitt, Michael Eldridge, Shannon Ison, & Tristain Lewis.
