Georgia (Anderson) Fugate

Georgia Fugate (nee Anderson) of Dittmer, Missouri, was born January 30, 1932 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to Noah and Nellie (nee Taulbee) Anderson and entered into rest Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Dittmer, Missouri at the age of 93 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Nellie (nee Taulbee) Anderson; her husband, Estill Fugate; daughter Ida Deegan; grandson Bobby Chiverton; siblings, Hazel Craft, Dessel Haynes, Junior Bach, Edwin Bach, Alma Heisler and Blanche Pisciotto.

She is survived by her children, Dale (Laura) Fugate, Peggy (Kerry) Peterman, Terry Fugate and Donna (Kevin) Baran; grandchildren, Mindy Chodrick, Jeffrey Chiverton, Terri Price, Nichole Fugate, Amy Stokka, Amber Katzberger and Doug Deegan; along with many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other family and friends.

Georgia was a woman of deep faith, always cherishing her love for God and living with kindness and compassion. She found joy in simple pleasures like word searches and crosswords, always keeping her mind sharp. Georgia was a dedicated caretaker, always putting others’ needs before her own, and her love for animals, especially dogs and cats, was undeniable. Whether watching game shows or spending time with loved ones, she brought strength, warmth, and positivity into every room she entered. A truly strong woman, Georgia’s legacy of love, care, and faith will forever be remembered.

Memorial Service 12 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Redeemed Baptist Church, Caney, KY, with Rev. Mike Frisby officiating.  Burial in Memory Hill Cemetery, Caney, KY.  Visitation from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Redeemed Baptist Church.
