Gary Vondale Lykins

Gary Lykins of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at his residence, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 6 days.  He was born Saturday, August 14, 1943, at Holliday, KY, son of Cortis & Mary Clay Griffitts Lykins.

Gary was a retired bus driver and custodian for the Morgan County School System, serving the school system for 28 years.  He was also a retired farmer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cortis & Mary Clay Lykins and two sisters, Snoba Rimer and Glenda Gayle Humble; niece, Patricia Ann Haney; and his special partner, Janet Sue Crase.

Gary is survived by two daughters, Mary Clay Lykins of West Liberty and Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Lykins of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Gary Eli Haney and Wesley Scott Pennington; two great grandchildren, Keegan Lacoy Haney & Devyn Eliza Haney; and one brother, Curtis Dale Lykins of Lewisburg, OH.

Gary will be missed by all his family and many friends.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Harn officiating.  Burial to follow in the Allen Cemetery, Hwy 1081, Salyersville, KY.  Visitation at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2026 at the funeral home.
