Frederick “Fred” Wayne Henley of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at Hospice of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, OH, at the age of 66 years, 3 months, 9 days. He was born Saturday, October 15, 1955, in Louisville, KY, son of the late Robert Joseph & Helen Dockery Henley.
Fred was a retired Correctional Officer with the Kentucky Department of Corrections. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country from 1973 – 1974. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ella, and one brother, Robert “Sonny” Henley.
He is survived by three children, Nicole Smith (Josh) of Brownsville, TX, Sarah Potter (Brandon) of West Liberty, KY, and Stacy Henley of West Liberty, KY; nine grandchildren, Kensley Potter, Elliott Rohr, Kamden Smith, Kyelynne Smith, Brody Henley, Shayla Henley, Penelope Potter, Sawyer Potter, and Scarlett Henley; one sister, Sandra Logsdon (Leroy Hood) of Bardstown, KY; two brothers, Ted Henley (Tish) of Louisville, KY, and Steve Henley of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law, Debbie Henley of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service 1 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeff Ryder officiating. Burial to follow in the West Liberty Memorial Gardens, West Liberty, KY, with Morgan County DAV to conduct military rites. Visitation 6 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 at the funeral home.
