Frederick Lane Blair of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Highlands ARH Medical Center, Prestonsburg, KY, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 27 days. He was born Wednesday, February 17, 1937, at West Liberty, KY, son of the late Stanley Wayne & Eva Mae Clevenger Blair.
Fred was united in marriage to Melinda Craft on November 27, 1963. This union was blessed with two children, Margaret Elaine & Clinton Craft. He was a retired Rural Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a devoted Christian and a member of West Liberty Christian Church. He loved his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, S.E. & Bernice Pelfrey Craft; one sister & brother-in-law, Leatha Nell Blair Nickell & William Lynn Nickell.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Melinda C. Blair; two children, Margaret Elaine & Gary Prater of West Liberty, KY and Clinton Craft & Jennifer Elaine Blair of Washington, DC; two grandchildren, Ashlee Ferguson & Seth Mason of West Liberty, KY and Gary Michael Prater of West Liberty, KY; three great grandchildren, Brenton Lee Ferguson, Ainslee Blair Ferguson, and Beau Russell Mason; two nephews, Billy Lynn & Debbie Nickell of Morehead, KY and Kent & Kim Nickell of Shelbyville, IN; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service, 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at the West Liberty Christian Church, with Bro. Hunter Fraley, George M. Bellamy, Kent Nickell, and Clinton Craft Blair officiating. Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at the West Liberty Christian Church. Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
